One of my favorite females of fairly recent history is Amelia Earhart. Her willingness to chart new territories, to become the first woman to pursue dreams often given over to male counterparts…her self confidence is amazing. I often daydream and wonder what life she had, if any, on the island many now believe she lived for a short while. I could romanticize it as an adventure of a sort I couldn’t imagine or fear she lived in hunger and fear.
Whatever her final moments may have been, she gave many courage to go where women had not gone before,
